This is the story of a woman who worked her whole life with the primary goal of being able to stop working. And the love of her life who steadfastly taught English around the world while envisioning a distinctly alternative lifestyle.
Together, we’re now retired and living on Koukla, our 50-foot Valiant sailboat.
We’ve experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and we’re writing our most dramatic chapter so far. Having sold our home in San Francisco and moved aboard the Kouk, we’re all in on living the life we’ve been obsessively dreaming of.
On this uncharted odyssey, we explore:
- boat life from the perspective of an unapologetically (and now formerly?) pampered chick and her otherwise inclined mate
- how we get sh*t done
- the good, bad, and questionable of extreme downsizing
- cooking and dining on a boat (heads up: you don’t have to compromise)
- and more … including, of course, the lowdown on locations and locals as we slowly make our way from the San Francisco Bay to our final destination: Greece
Join us for what we expect to be our most challenging and exhilarating adventure yet.
Looking forward to following along and seeing you soon!
